The Instructional Designer drives the creation of high-volume content for goFLUENT’s middle and high school language teaching solutions. This role combines instructional design, digital pedagogy, AI-assisted production, and project management for the development of effective, engaging, and practical teaching content
In this role, you will:
design and develop activities that build language, critical thinking, and real-world communication skills while ensuring measurable proficiency (level progression);
curate and organize courses that meet curriculum goals and business requirements;
conduct research on curriculum standards and edtech trends to identify market opportunities, integrate best practices, and shape impactful content strategies;
lead discussions with stakeholders to establish project scopes and objectives, assess project viability, and ensure effective deployment;
schedule, monitor, and adjust project timelines, resources, and deliverables to achieve strategic business goals;
brainstorm and collaborate closely with stakeholders to continually update and optimize content on goFLUENT’s platform;
perform other duties aligned with the team's evolving needs and priorities.
What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you must have:
native-level, expert, or bilingual English proficiency;
a college degree (those with a degree in education, English, linguistics, or a related field will be prioritized);
instructional design expertise and the ability to develop innovative content strategies for digital and blended/hybrid contexts;
experience in at least one of the following:
teaching young learners (any subject);
teaching English or other languages (any age group);
working in middle or high school educational settings; or
writing or editing for young readers (fiction or nonfiction);
excellent problem-solving, research, and critical-thinking skills to evaluate curriculum standards, track edtech trends, and quickly learn language acquisition principles and proficiency frameworks like the CEFR;
keen attention to detail, with the ability to follow complex instructions and apply feedback effectively;
strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive projects to completion;
engaging presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences;
a positive, can-do attitude to tackle routine tasks, adapt when priorities shift, and remain composed and efficient in a fast-paced environment;
a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous professional improvement;
proficiency in office software suites and a willingness to learn new instructional technologies and project management tools.
Experience with the following is not required but is a PLUS:
generative AI;
project management;
workflow automation tools.
